Hello Ajith,

A very good question. We are at the moment trying to built up new manuals and shedules and everything for our new edition. This means some things are not settled yet, but this also means there's a lot of space for ideas and ideals for the editorial board!!!

One thing I can tell you is that we have a VIP live meeting in the beginning of March in Mainz where we will try to find a new more sufficient structure for our board.

Will soon write you what I think are fair commitments in terms of time and other things.

Great to hear you are interesed to join the team! ^O^

As for time matters: I would say you should make up your mind if you wane join first ;). During the editing phase (roughly the month before the magazine comes out) the team has a lot to do the rest of the time its not much. Appart from now, where we are developing our structure and manuals as Inge already said.

Ajith, perhaps it's also good to know that the main activities of our editing team:
- At the moment we are working on finding a suitable topic for the EG6 (closure today).
- Afterwards we start making a call for articles and a front picture
In this time you will just work on collecting articles and finding motivated EGEANS to write for our magazine
- In march (from 5-7th) we will have our life meeting discussing our structure and some manuals (something like therms of acceptance/ guidelines for authors/editor manuals)
- Then, the editing for 1/2 months starts, including: editing articles and having contact with author and co-editors!
- After having a final version of all articles we are collecting everything (and sending everything to Geomedia - who formats everything for our magazine)

It would be great if you could join our team!!!

Hi Inge, Thanks for the details. Looks alright. I wish to propose the theme for EG6 as 'Professionalising Geography'. I will not be able to attend the meeting if I have to visit Mainz in March, but can definitely join the team for skype meeting. I can find time to review and edit during March-June period. If every thing can be done though internet staying where I am, I will be keen to get join the team.

Thanks again for the invitation to join the editorial team.

Hello Ajith again!
About the theme, you can choose at: http://www.egea.eu/forum/topic/7906
About the live meeting: not a problem if you cannot join the meeting and I think because you can edit during March- June, this will be sufficient anyway! I will contact you if we have a new skype meeting!

Hello Egeans, I'm really interested to be a part of Editorial Team.As AJIITH it's something completly new for me.But you have a fortune, cause I like challenges.
One thngs that I need to know is what would be our main obligation. I guees it's writing articles or maybe something else. However,I'm ready to learn from experience member and contribute to geography's science.
and only one more question: Must I officially to register at Inge?(P.S. your nickname is to short :) )

I'm also involved in the EG editorial team and I can absolutely recommend it!

There will be an open call for articles for the next issue. We will have about 3 weeks in April to edit the articles and discuss things with the authors. Those weeks are quite busy as Vivi already said, but the amound of work depends on how many articles we get and how many editors we have. One example: if we get 10-15 articles (each 3-4 pages) and have 5 editors, each editor has to edit 4-6 articles (as each article is edited by two people). You can also edit less articles if you are busy during editing time. A bit help is still better than no help at all ;)

In June we will get two draft versions which have to be checked. We are not doing the layouting. This is done by an external company.
There are also other tasks (setting up a time table for the next issue, making open calls, writing a small article for the newsletter, getting in touch with BoE and other committees, etc.), but it is up to you how much you can/want to help. The editing part is by far the most important task.

About resourcess: you should have a good command of English and know how to use a computer ;)

Does that information help you a bit, Ajith?

@ filipinjo: It's not our task to write articles, but to check and correct them. Of course you can also write articles if you are a member of the editorial board, but our main task is editing. Writing articles is open for all egeans. It is actually also a very important task as we cannot publish a magazine without any articles ;)

about: Must I officially to register at Inge?(P.S. your nickname is to short )

You can contact me, because I am one of the members of the editing team, just like Vera and Maike. We will basically will decide as a team.

Hi Inge, Hi Nacchi,

Thanks again to both for very clear replies. I am keen to be involved. Please do let me know if there is any formal procedure required to be part of the Editorial Team apart from this expression of interest. Can you also tell me what is the duration of the editorial team? Is it only for this edition or also for the future? Can I also know who are the other members in the team?

Thanks a lot.

Hello dear editorial team!
I was thinking from the last year to involve in Editorial Board of EGEA Magazine, but the main problem is the lack of time.
I am in some editorial boards of scientific-cultural publications, and I would be glad to involve for EGEA magazine as well.

I hope will be able to contribute and you can include me in the editorial board of EGEA magazine.
I have some questions:
1. will be printed version of EGEA magazine available for next issues as well?
2. It is the tasks of editors distributed by diffrent activities to do?
3. Do the EGEA Magazine have an official registration as publication? Where and which ISBN code.

and some sugesstions:
1. As it is a publication with scientific content (of majority articles) we can include a scientific supervision board, which can include some senior level researchers. It is common for many publication in order to improve scientific level and image. Usually is more a formality, but anyway I think can contribute for the level of magazine.
In this case we can have egeans with PhD and lecturers who can be part. I also can involve, as have academic status and PhD in geography.

2. To have the status of official, international (european) publication in geography. As it is published in NL most probably should be registred with ISBN code in NL. As I know is not so difficult to obtain this.

3. To promote the magazine through various networks, not only by EGEA site.
To make open call where can contribute with articles on the topic also any other interested people.

4. in perspective to elaborate the yearbook of EGEA, like publication whith articles, scientific work and yearly activities, as we have already the precedent of many processings from Congresses. Can be supported every year by diffrent universities and institutions, and of course maybe some grants.
this can be like a book which once distributed in libraries will keep EGEA contribution in geographical history
