I think that if cancels the last participant of one entity then the place gets the next one on the waiting list. But if there are more people on the
list from the same entity, then the place gets the next one from that specific entity.
Unfortunately for me I think it's like this.

@ Waitinglist: we know, that it's a bit confusion and we're really sorry for that, but it's quite difficult anyway!
We started with a waitinglist consisting of more than 130 persons!
it is important to look at the entity-slots! if the slot is still open, just the person is striked out, the next one on the entity-list has this
place
we consider it too error-prone to allways change the places of the names on the list...
but, whenever there is a question, please feel free to ask!

we are sorry for the big confusion!!
as we were asked to make the waiting-list less difficult to understand, we 'rectified' it, by taking the cancellations and the ones, who already got a
place, out of the list!
BUT: the ranking and the places each of the persons on the waiting list has, have not changed!!!
The confusion to my mind is, that the system before had a diversification:
1.
entity - name ---> the slot for the entity is still open!!! - the next one of the entity gets this place!
AND:
2.
entity - name ---> the entity got this place; it would be the same, if the line wouldn't exist
so: if your name was f. e. the 5th, which was not striked out, but there were 3 entity-slots open before your name, you were nr. 8 on the waiting
list!!!
hopefully this explaines the confusion!?!
but: always feel free to ask!

the rules for the last-minute-placing, which starts on the 23rd of march 2010:
The procedure is as follows (extract of the EGEA protocol):
Last minute placing procedure
3.1. The organizers can decide to implement a last minute placing procedure in order to speed up
the process of distributing free places to persons on the waiting list. This procedure can be put into
place no earlier than fourteen (14) days prior to the start of the Regional Congress.
If the organizers decide to use a last minute placing procedure, this is the one to be used.
3.2. In case of a cancellation, the organizers ask all the people on the waiting list to react within
the next twenty four (24) hours (minimum).
3.3. From those who responded in the given time (24 hours), the free place should go to the
person who has the highest rank on the current waiting list.
3.4. If in the same time period (24 hours) more places get available, these places are given to
the next person according the waiting list, of those persons who responded to the first call.
3.5. In case no one from the waiting list responds within the given time or the waiting list is empty,
the organizers can ask all interested EGEAns to apply for the free place(s).

so, here is a list of things, wou should bring to the congress (almost all of them are obvious anyway - just to be sure, they are not forgotten):
- slippers
- indoor sports shoes with pale soles, if you want to use the sports hall
- warm clothes - please don't underestimate the weather!
for the excursions:
For the snowshoe-hiking you need:
- tough shoes (like hiking-boots) which reach above your ankles - Waterproof boots would be perfect
- warm clothes!!!, but make sure, that you can undress a little bit, if it gets warmer
- rain shelter
- sun-cream and sun-glasses
you might also bring (optionally):
- a photo-camera
- gaters
- compass, altimeter
- for the glacier: hiking sticks
- anything for the hat-party
- towels can be borrowed for 2€
- there is no need to bring a sleeping bag, a mat or bedding yourselves
