We have some announcements and information for you guys, so please read all the way to the end.
We would like to know some things about your travelling plans and also some other things. To be able to manage the big amount of information we have
opened a survey. Please answer all the questions in the survey as soon as possible, preferably right now! You can find the survey here:
http://www.webropol.com/P.aspx?id=401179&cid=32718399
In the survey we’ll ask you about the following things:
1) Travelling to Finland. We are of course interested to know when you arrive and leave and if you need accommodation before and/or after the
congress. We can’t guarantee a free place to stay, but we’ll try our best.
2) After-congress event. This event takes places in the weekend after the congress. You can read more about it on the congress webpage
www.egea.eu/congresses/nbrc10. You sign up for the event by answering a question in the questionnaire. There is no special cost for the event;
everyone simply pays for themselves for what they want to.
3) Thirdly, tell us whether you'd like a congress t-shirt or not. Just pick your t-shirt size in the survey. Remember that whatever you decide, you
can not change your mind after you answered. We'll make t-shirts for those who wish to have one and only for those. The cost will be around 10–12
euros.
4) Bus ride. We are planning to organize a bus ride to the congress place on Monday March 8. The bus will have the following route: Helsinki city
centre – Helsinki airport – the Congress Location. The time of the bus is depending a bit on your answers to question 1 (when you arrive) but it
will probably leave the city centre around 15:00 or 15:30. The participants pay for the bus, and the more we are the cheaper it gets. We don’t
expect it to cost that much, maybe 3–6 euros. Other means of transport to get to the congress place are problematic. More info on the congress
website.
5) Visas. If you need a visa, please inform us the address where to send the invitation and tell us the desired dates of travelling. Send this
information to nbrc2010@egea.eu. N.B. We are not sending out visa invitations before you have paid the congress fee!
What to bring with you?
- Three items for your bed: A sheet, a pillow case and a shell/cover for the blanket. Also sleeping bags are allowed.
- A towel.
- Indoor shoes. Outdoor shoes are not allowed inside the building. Wearing only socks inside is also fine, but be sure to bring warm ones then.
- National food and drinks for the cultural fair. There won’t be traditional country presentations, so you don’t have to prepare a show or the
like.
- Also please keep in mind that it might be very cold in Finland at that time of year. So get that old winter jacket out from your closet and keep
checking the weather forecast before packing.
- Also be prepared that we are visiting a night club one evening. If you like you can bring some clothes for this purpose.
Please keep checking our website for updates and information!!
See you in Finland! :)
