First a big hello for all travellers, hope you are enjoying the summer, or what's left of it!

Can you help me with a little bit of advice?

Here's the situation: I hope I will find myself in Skopje, Macedonia, at the beginning of October, with couple of other EGEAns from Koper. We have a plan to retourn to Slovenia by sea. So, from Skopje to Albania (via Tirana) to Durres and by some ferry to some place close to Slovenia (ports as: Rijeka, Koper, Trieste, Venezia).

So, do you have any informations about souch ferrys? - Have you been travelling already on this route?

-Or maybe it is more suitable to go from Skopje to Greece and catch a Ferry from there to our final destination?

What are the prices, any student discounts?

Thank you for any information!

Greets from Slovenia!:W

I did that (opposite) tour last year ;)
from Italy down the Western Balkans till Greece.

There is a link from Durres to Trieste. Last year it cost around 60 euros, it takes around one day to Trieste :) and its departure dates are a bit limited each month. Otherwise you have to reach Igoumenitsa port in Greece, either from Skopje, or Tirana, to take a ferry to Venice (around 50 euros, but you can ask for the 20% student discount and again 21-22hours voyage :) ).

Another option is to visit Saranda in Albania's south, and take a flying dolphin to Corfu (around 15 euros). Then again ship to Venice.

Hey Brian, thanks a lot! _O__O__O_

Just some questions:
...and I asume that there's no need to make a reservation?
...Do know maybe the name of the Ferry companies that make that route you have written? Becouse it would be much easier to check the prices and the dates.

Thank you again!

You will travel off-season, so you will find a place on the deck. Cabins however sometimes are occupied if you don't pre-book. It depends on demand.

For Durres-Trieste it is AGEMAR (www.agemar.it)
And for Venice: ANEK Lines (www.anek.gr) and MINOAN Lines (www.minoan.gr)
