To achieve a better overview on the discussed matters, sometimes subforums are introduced within the main sections. here, more specific themes are going to be handled.
Besides those subforums visible to all members and guests, there are as well hidden subforums.
These are used for
1. e.g. coordinating activities like congresses or events. Here, the participants are allowed to use their mothertongues in order to have most efficient communication with their fellow organizers.
2. commitees and other groups, that want to lead discussions without beeing disturbed by occasionally dropping by members or don´t want to disturb the public with their very specific discussions.
members who can see these hidden subforums can be added to the access-list manually by moderators and admins. there is also the possibility to invite members to one of these hidden subforums by sending a special link:
This link can be posted within a news, send by mail or u2u and has to look like that:
http://www.egea.eu/subscribe.php?action=subscribe&fid=ID of the Forum
Clicking this link will add the member to the access-list of the subforum.
Clicking the following link will give the member an overview on the already enlisted members: http://www.egea.eu/subscribe.php?action=viewlist&fid=ID of the Forum
To get removed from the subforum-list, members have to click the unsubscribe-link: http://www.egea.eu/subscribe.php?action=unsubscribe&fid=ID of the Forum
note: to be able to use this subscribe/unsubscribe-feature, the subforum has to to be enabled for that. this can be done by moderators via mods panel -> Forums Administration -> selecting the forum: "More Options" -> checking the box: "Enable subscribe option for this forum"
